What information we collect
When you contact us or book through our form
If you complete the contact or booking form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the support group you are interested in, and your consent to us storing your details. We also receive anything else you choose to tell us in your message.
When you pay for a place
If you book a place, you are taken to a secure payment page run by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details directly. We never see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation of your payment along with details such as your name, email address and the amount paid.
When you email or phone us
If you get in touch by email or phone, we keep the details of your enquiry and our replies so that we can help you.
Information from your visit
Like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers keep standard technical logs (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not currently use website analytics.
A note about sensitive information
Because our groups focus on wellbeing, you may want to tell us about how you are feeling or about your health. Please do not include detailed health information in the website form. If you choose to share it with us, we will only use it with your consent, to respond to you and to look after your place in a group.
How and why we use your information

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling. We will only contact you about marketing if you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share your information with
We only share information with trusted providers who help us run the service, and only as needed:
- Stripe, to take secure online payments.
- Google Workspace, which provides our business email.
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the website and the form submissions you send us.
- Google Maps, which displays the map on our Contact page. Loading the map may share technical information, such as your IP address, with Google.
We may also share information where the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety. Some of these providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed for the website to work. Our Contact page includes an embedded Google Map, and Google may set its own cookies when the map loads. If we add analytics or marketing tools in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries: if you contact us but do not book, we keep your details for up to 12 months, then delete them.
- Bookings: we keep booking and payment records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes, which is normally six years.
- Anything else: only for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, including secure (HTTPS) connections, access controls and trusted service providers. No system is completely secure, so please take care when sending information online.
Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information, or object to our using it;
- receive your information in a portable format, where this applies; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did beforehand.
To use any of these rights, email info@shared-motherhood.ie. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland’s data protection authority, at www.dataprotection.ie.
